FUSE is now WildFire, the Student Ministry of First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg, Florida. Gathering every Sunday and Wednesday, WildFire provides inspiration, discipleship, and activities for Middle School and High School-aged students. Our vision for students in grades 6 through 12 is for them to meet God, meet friends, and discover God’s purpose in their lives.
WildFire is our name and our challenge.
Since FUSE is something that ignites something or sets off a reaction, WildFire is the product of that built up and ready to explode energy. While FUSE was contained within a cube, WildFire is a ministry that will be an outward moving, with a focus on using the energy we get from spending time with one another in fellowship, to serve others. In doing that, we move outward and include more people in a constantly increasing area. You can see in the logo that the structure of a cube is still visible, but it is now the origin of our movement, not the container of our influence. We will be breaking the stigma of "your church vs my church" or "their kids vs our kids" and reaching across to many other youth groups and churches to be united as THE church Jesus spoke about. We find our beginnings as a youth group in Acts, as the first groups gathered together, and added to their number daily. We'll be using that as a model, and we will pray that God will be able to use us greatly!
- Ignite: To meet together in fellowship, and fan the flame of our faith in one another.
- Fuel: To constantly seek out God's will and who He is in His Word, just as a wildfire seeks out fuel to keep it burning.
- Spread: To move outward like a wildfire and serve others, creating an environment of growth wherever we go.
- Blaze: To live unashamed of the fire in side us, placed there by God, fueled by the Holy Spirit, and made whole in Jesus Christ.
